Hazardville Fire Department


The Training Division of the Hazardville Fire Department is run by Deputy Chief Tom Moriarty who serves as the Training Officer. Deputy Chief Moriarty is responsible for the scheduling and selection of the training classes and instructors. Most of the officers as well as some of the members teach the training sessions which occur three times a month on both Monday Evening and Friday Mornings. One of the sessions is totally dedicated to driver training while the other two deal with department operations and/or mandated training. The EMS Division and the Squad 5 auxillary also have one training session a month as well. Below you will see some of the training the the Hazardville Fire Department has done.

The Hazardville Fire Department recently acquired a house to training in. The house at the corner of Hazard Ave and South Rd is being torn down by the State of Connecticut so that they can realign the roadway. Below are shots of some of the activities.

The Hazardville Fire Department recently was invited to take part in some day training at a burn house with the Enfield Fire Department. The house on Old King Street was being destroyed to make way for a new housing sub-division.


The house on Old King Street burns away on the final day of training and Squad Five member George Kozikowski mans the deck gun at the drill.
